Marlinspike Seamanship

Marlinspike seamanship in Sea Cadets refers to the traditional maritime art of working with rope, line, and wire, which is a fundamental skill taught to develop proficiency in deck seamanship. It involves learning the proper care, handling, and maintenance of line, as well as mastering knots, splices, and hitches necessary for operating a vessel.

Cadets are expected to learn and become proficient in these six knots, and they can be considered in advancement qualifications.

If you would benefit from hands on example, please speak with chain of command at next drill.
